July 1, 2011 - Utah
This was Friday. We checked out of the Hotel and headed up to Timpanogos. We had some time to kill before we headed to Bennett Rassmussen's. The tour for the caves was a three hour wait, so we decided to get a trail map and do some hiking. Thank goodness we rented a 4 x 4 SUV. Wolf decided to do the Silver Lake hike, which you have to go up a very rocky dirt road to get to the hike. There were lots of rocks and ditches in the ground. We got to the top were there was a resevoir and a trail to hike. We started with lots of water in the backpack and the kids. We walked what seem to be forever, but it really wasn't. We were walking right next to a small stream. We got some really nice pictures along the way. Needless to say we never made it to the end of the trail because Bridgette was getting tired of hiking. We only made is about 1/2 mile up the trail before we turned around. The trail was 1 1/2 miles. We then went to This is the place monument, we had to kill more time. We walked around for a little bit, then headed to Centersville to meet Bennett and his family. We arrived at Bennett's Moms house around 6:30, unpacked our luggage, we were staying there for a few days, then Sister Rasmussen took us all out to the Brick Oven for dinner. It was Stacie, Bennett, our family, Tanner, and Sister Rasmussen. We had a good time talking and reconnecting. After dinner we went back to the house to relax and play some apples to apples.
June 30, 2011 - Thursday - Utah
We had to be at the airport by 5:30 a.m.. We left from cleveland at 6:50 a.m. and arrived at Dallas Fort Worth at 8:50 a.m. We had about a 2 hour layover waiting for our plan to Salt Lake. While at the airport we met some missionaries coming home from Brazil. They were flying into Salt Lake as well. That was a neat experience. We arrived in Salt Lake around 12:30. Picked up the rental car and drove to the hotel room in Taylorsvile, UT. We decided to look around and went to the Gateway. We ate dinner at Applebees. We then headed to the Conference Center to meet Corey Wozniak, a missionary that served his mission in Ohio. We went to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Rehearsal at the Conference Center. We also hung out with Wozniak in Temple Square. We had a wonderful time with him.
Utah
We just recently took a trip to Utah with our family. We were able to visit with friends and lots of missionaries that served in Ohio were we live. We did lots of hiking, sight seeing, and visiting. More information to follow.
